The new School of Missions is dedicated to train and prepare future missionaries for work in the Latin American mission field. Our classes include Cultural Adaptation, Building a Support Team, Missionary Finances, Missionary Bios, and Language learning. This is our Internship program, and a perfect "fifth semester" for graduates of the world-wide network of affiliate Calvary Chapel Bible Colleges. The School of Missions is also open to those who have not attended Calvary Chapel Bible College.
Starting on the Mission field in a new country and culture without prior experience can be difficult and challenging. Culture shock, loneliness, homesickness, misunderstandings, and miscommunications are just a few of the troubles that one encounters. Our hope is to better prepare students with practical experience living in a foreign culture, learning to depend on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The twelve month, hands-on internship program is designed specifically for long-term preparation for the mission field in Latin America. Missionary students will study the in’s-and-out’s of missions, the lives of past and present missionaries, enjoy extended Bible classes, learn about the various challenges facing missionaries, and actually serve up to a year as missionaries on the "real life" mission field. After finishing the program, our hope is that students may discover their call to the mission field and remain, serving the Lord in the Peru ministries and beyond.
Students will be based out of the new facilities of Calvary Chapel Bible College Cajamarca, rooming with college students and developing relationships which should lay a foundation for missionary teams to work in new areas and church planting. Students may start the twelve month program anytime during the year on the first Monday at the beginning of the month of their choice. After completing the eleventh month, students will be sent to work for 30 days at a specific location in Latin America to be prayerfully determined by the staff and missionary.
In daily, two hour, class sessions, students will learn Missions, Spanish, the History, Geography and Culture of Latin America, and International Church Planting. In addition, practical ministry such as medical missions, puppy and clown ministry, carpentry, aquaponics and auto-mechanics will be taught and applied during the year’s study.
Each student will participate in monthly outreach trips gaining experience in cross-cultural evangelism. Each student will be given practical ministry assignments that they will be expected to develop and oversee. Assignments may include: concert evangelistic outreaches, VBS, targeting certain cities for massive evangelism or church planting.
Students will rise early and be involved in physical training activities through “Club Sudor,” benefiting through bodily exercise and conditioning as preparation for the mission field. Students will be expected to write bi-monthly missionary newsletters and develop contact lists. They will have regular correspondence with their leadership to develop a church-missionary relationship with their sending churches.
Tuition: $590 monthly for single students, $1,000 monthly for couples. Price includes tuition, housing, all materials, missions trips, and their off campus, twelfth month practicum. To enroll, please fill out the below application and click "submit," and we will get back to you shortly!
